Number of Bloggers Would Disagree, Ms. Raitt

A friend of ours - also a friend of Progressive Bloggers - was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. We take exception to your statement, Ms. Raitt, that the isotope issue is "sexy" due to its propensity to conjure up (legitimate) fears of "radioactive leaks, cancer." I doubt our friend would agree, and I cannot imagine her anger and shock when she learns of your remarks.

Fortunately for our friend, who had to ask her surgeon about this today, she will not be affected by the isotope shortage. Other cancer patients will not be so lucky.

Raitt's comments were totally insensitive, but I think the real story here is that Michael Ignaiteff decided to prop up the Harper government because he was threatened with retaliation by the CEOs of three major banks from the Canadian Council of Chief Executives.

Good to know where he's getting his marching orders!

Agree with you concerning Iggy. He's bad news for Canada in so many ways. However, the Raitt story and Iggy's puppet masters are two separate stories.

"the Raitt story and Iggy's puppet masters are two separate stories."

Yeah, except the revelation of the "marching orders" for Iggy came from the same tape as Raitt's "sexy" comment, but the Chronicle-Herald chose to play up the the isotope angle.

That's fair enough. It was Lisa Raitt on the tape; damaging comments from her own mouth are therefore more solid news.

But I would have appreciated it if the CH had done some more digging and tried to found out exsactly what was said in that CCCE meeting.
